This male monarch was clinging to some twigs right at the edge of Lake Superior. My friend was afraid maybe she stepped on it but we do not know this with any certainty. She has photos but hasn't shared them yet. It had a little blob of white stuff on its back - we hoped it wasn't its innards. I haven't gone back to see if it's still there today - a bit of foot traffic on the shore may have ended its plight/flight...
