Reported by Don Davis: Today I spoke with Jim Gilbert in Minnesota. Jim is well known in Monarch circles for the tagged monarch he released in Minnesota in 1975, later found by Dr. Fred Urquhart in Mexico, and portrayed in the IMAX film "Flight of the Butterflies". Jim also volunteered at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Jim informed this writer that Arboretum staff spotted their first monarch on May 10, 2022. Jim noted that this is an early sighting as they usually are seen at the Arboretum about May 20th.
