Had a little more time to observe today. The male was feeding with a female on the same feeder at one point. He also was doing the bug swooping courtship behavior quite a bit.
This evening, toward the end of twilight, there was a lot of feeder activity. I could not discern the gender, because of low light conditions. One was feeding, another approached the feeder and was chased off by the first - not sure whether one was following or chasing after they left the feeder - that was at 8:18 p.m. Sundown was at 8:12. After the chase, I saw one of the hummers at a time eat four times until 8:34. At one point, a bird appeared to present itself to the feeder. Not sure if that's what was happening, but it sure looked like that. Suppose it's a good idea to make friends with your feeder.
