Monarch Waystation #271 reports that Notchtasha has been seen on and off the last 2 days still laying eggs in the front bed. On 5/16 she did her run in the morning before rain came in later in the day. Temps got to the high 70s by 10:45 am. Today she continued assessing milkweeds and laying eggs in both front and back beds, a dynamo hard to photograph. She favors laying eggs on the flower buds and very young upper leaves of the purple milkweeds vs the leathery mature lower leaves. The older larvae can handle the large leaves later. This is the first female monarch I recall that is happy to load eggs on flower buds.
