Lone Butterfly seen hovering and flitting around me, inspecting while I worked in the place milkweed has grown annually in the past. Bulldozed and mowed flowerbeds and natural area gone after flooding broke our dam last summer. New tiny area of 1 foot tall milkweed and flowering Russian olive trees near the house were not discovered. The butterfly landed on moist gravel/ clay driveway with wings opened for about 3 minutes, flattened to the ground, completely still flapping once briefly, then resting. As I approached she took off over M43 going east with a good cool breeze. 90°F yesterday, 70°F today with prior intermittent cloud bursts of rain then full sun.
