Reported to me by trusted Monarch spotter and twin sister who saw this monarch from her cabin up north. She talked me into overwintering 5 Black Swallowtail larvae she found last fall on her depleted parsley. They turned into chrysalids but never eclosed. So I let them endure what nature would have subjected them to: WINTER IN MINNESOTA. I kept them in the garage in my Honda trunk all winter and they eclosed a couple weeks ago. So my sister knows her stuff and she knows monarchs.
