I have a male robin who has become quite fond of my mealworm offerings -- both live and dried. He arrived before the ground thawed this spring and we established a connection at that point. Last week, instead of eating the live mealworms, he suddenly began gathering them up in his beak and flying off with them. He returns frequently to restock, so I'm assuming he's feeding nestlings. He continues to eat the dried mealworms, but carries all the live ones away.
