At about 4 p.m., I saw a female Monarch frantically laying eggs in my milkweed patch. She didn't look too beat up, just a small tear in one hind wing. She didn't stop to feed or collect moisture, just flitting from leaf to leaf, laying eggs. I tried to count, but I couldn't keep up with her. So, hopefully, within 4-7 days, most of them will hatch and I'll have new residents. :D
