Monarch Waystation #299 [aka the Virginia Living Museum] reports that a museum volunteer sighted a monarch in the Conservation Garden today. It was flying along the pathway next to the Virginia Garden between 1:45 and 2 pm. The monarch flew by while the volunteer ate lunch seated in the bench under the tree near the large gate. The volunteer didn't get a clear enough look to determine gender, due to strong intermitent breezes which made the monarch fly fast and dive in and out of the native wildflowers growing along the path.
