Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/15/2022

Number: 1

Finally! As I walked down the driveway shortly after noon, past the Common Milkweed which is just starting to bloom, I startled her and she flew up. I called out to her, “please don’t go.” She circled around the front yard and came back, paused near the driveway patch before heading west to the patch of Common Milkweed next to the fence. It was a very hot and humid sunshiny day; excellent insect weather. Temperature was 33°C but feeling like 40°C the wind was 180° at 7 km/h. Looking forward to seeing the first caterpillars.
