This Monarch had just recently emerged from it's chrysalis and was still drying it's wings. The sighting was in the Native Plant Butterfly Garden at Pleasant Grove Park in Palmyra, VA. We have not seen them this early in the year before. In prior years, it would be late August or early September before we would see them.
