Monarch chrysalis with dark discoloration, hole, and t-fly larva string hanging from it.

I’ve seen T-flies around my milkweed. This is earlier than I saw them last year.

Found one monarch caterpillar hanging upside down from the edge of a pot 2 weeks ago, dead and deflated.

Found another small caterpillar dead in the soil beneath my potted milkweed 2 weeks ago.

Have seen no successful monarch eclosing in the last 3 weeks.
