Sightings report image

Date: 06/24/2022

Number: 1

Discovered 5th instar monarch caterpillar on potted Asclepias incarnata in the milkweed nursery, while watering today. Caterpillar resumed eating after unintentional disturbance. Have not seen adult monarch butterflies yet this year, despite reports nearby. Weather now is mostly clear, low winds, average temps for this time of year, although high of 91F recorded several days ago and heavy rain about 2 weeks ago, likely the last of the rain for the next 3-4 months.
