First Monarch of the year. Single male nectering on common milkweed flowers in the back yard around 6:30 pm. We've had lots of milkweed plants, both common and swamp, for more than 4 weeks. Cool early Spring weather must have slowed the migration down. Do not intend to raise & release monarchs this year after 3 years of 500+, 1,000+ and 750+. It's a lot of work...
