I believe the female Monarch butterfly to be the 4th generation returning to lay eggs. I saw her lay 8 eggs on the milkweed flowerbuds. I retrieved 8 eggs and are raising them. All eight eggs hatched on 6/23/22 and are doing well. Since 6/17/22 I have not seen any additional eggs or caterpillars on my milkweed plants which are contained in one area of my property.
