Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 06/27/2022

Number: 3

We watched 1 monarch for quite a while, flutter in and around a tall cottonwood tree. Then suddenly we saw one come from a different direction than the first one. We were able to spot 2 of them at the same time. It was exciting to confirm three monarchs in the same area. (Almost, unheard of in Utah.)

Just a few days ago I reported 2 monarchs in this exact same spot. We will never know if there are total 5 adult monarchs or 3, non the less it is exciting to see.

Also, eggs were found in this habitat. Needless to say this wild habitat in American Fork is critical for the repopulation of the monarch butterfly.
