I observed these Monarchs along a mile-long stretch of Seven Bridges Road (gravel) through a swamp area. This was the same area as in the report for 25 June 2022.

A field at 31.470301684424065, -84.37641941845489 within the Chickasawhatchee WMA has been documented as an inland Monarch and Queen overwintering site for the past two cold seasons. This has been the subject of approximately 40 previous Journey North Reports. This is in the southwest corner of Dougherty County, and approximately 10 miles southwest of Albany, Georgia.

Straight-line distance to Atlantic Coast: 178 miles.
Straight-line distance to Gulf Coast: 98 miles.

Asclepias tuberosa is fairly plentiful within the WMA. I have also documented Asclepias perennis within the WMA. Today I did not see any Monarchs on milkweed. I did photograph Queens and other species on A. tuberosa today.
