I spotted my first monarch of the year today on the west side of Gilletts Lake. We have a lot of milkweed ready for them (common, swamp, and butterfly milkweed as well as tropical milkweed I am growing as an annual). We've been watching for them to arrive and are so happy to finally see one! I couldn't get close enough to see whether it was male or female.
