See earlier record about eggs laid in my Waystation.
Today at least some of them hatched.
This one was protected in a container, because it had been on milkweed I was thinning earlier this week.
The other eggs I left in the yard. I think the one laid on top of a leaf dried up and didn’t hatch.
I have seen signs of first I start herbivory, but have not been able to locate any larvae on the 4 th or 5 th of July. Thani had to travel for a few days. The protected larva has done well, molted at least once by July 8.
I put it out in the showy milkweed patch on July 9. On the 10th (today) i see good signs of herbivory on a couple of leaves of the plant I put him (sorry - it), but do not see it. It may have traveled to other sprouts.
