Happened to be outside when this adult female monarch came by to lay some eggs. I found approximately 50 eggs on many of my milkweed plants. Many of the caterpillars are now 5th instars, with about 20 more of them a bit behind at 3rd and 4th instars. Also have about 9 recently discovered eggs that all should be hatching in the next day or so. Temps are in the 100s here and haven’t had rain in quite some time.
