Date: 07/13/2022

Number: 1

2:01pm 23°c, 69% humidity, partly sunny with SE wind @ 11kmh. Light rain showers am & late day.
Observed a fresh pristine female intensely nectaring on elecampane. Always a favourite by all pollinators.
She twice flitted to nearby Common milkweed but did not land & always returned to the elecampane. I watched on & off for about 25 minutes. Did not see her lay eggs.
Cold front arriving. Overnight low forecast at 14°c, not favourable to keep their life cycle moving along. Warms around noon to 23°ish. Every 2 or 3 days the weather has been like this this July. Very unusual July which is usually our hottest/most humid.
