I spotted 7 caterpillars in my garden today, including 1 in the larvae stage. I have never seen one in this stage before! I observed it after it fell from the butterfly weed and was dangling by a fine thread. As the wind blew it close to a leaf, it grabbed on and reattached itself! Nature is awesome! Note: this is about two weeks later than last year's crop of caterpillars started to appear.
