Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 07/17/2022

Number: 1

I don't have feeders out this year, and I haven't been able to spend much time in the garden. Today though I saw a female or juvenile ruby-throated hummingbird nectaring from Salvia microphylla (clear preference for Hot Lips over a red cultivar), saponaria, yellow jewelweed, tropical milkweed, and other flowers that were behind the tomatoes, so I couldn't be sure which she stopped on, but probably common milkweed and lantana Miss Huff.
