Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 07/29/2022

Number: 1

One monarch. All day in my front yard Waystation.
It prefers I leave the yard to it, so I’m not positive on the sex.
Quite probably a male because of evening patrolling behavior and no ovipositing.
And I saw a male 3 and 4 days ago here.
I enjoyed watching it ride out a wond storm from 5-6:30 pm from a nearby rain& hailstorm up in the mountains from here.
This morning it was nectaring on Buddleia. Did not appreciate me deadheading.
It’s after 7 pm now and he’s still occasionally patrolling.
He enjoys the trees scattered around, the shelter to W and N from my and neighbors house, the yarrow and occasionally narrowleaf milkweed nectar.
I hope he finds some company soon.
Todays high was about 93, mostly sunny, mild winds until 5 pm.
He started nectaring before 8 am.
