I cultivate a large patch of wild milkweed on my property and have seen Monarchs as well as caterpillars. I also have asked my neighbors to not brush-hog a nearby area because the milkweed grows there too. And, I heard on NBC News that the Monarch has recently been up-graded, or down-graded, to "Endangered".
