First instar caterpillar found on leaf of native milkweed in garden.
Interesting observation (to me anyway) - this large garden includes numerous plantings of asclepias tuberosa and incarnata. But, only a single stem of native milkweed.
Out of all the plants in the entire garden, females seem to have picked the single stem of native milkweed first for their offspring.
