I maintain a milkweed Forest, consisting of probably 200 individual at this point. I have only ever seen one monarch on any of these plants one time in the 10 years that I've had these plants. No caterpillars, no chrysalises. This year the leaves appear to be covered with some sort of sticky substance, attracting hundreds and hundreds of flies. Some wasps were also seen on these leaves.
