Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 07/31/2022

Number: 2

The butterfly flew quickly and erratically. The photo is not good, but it is of an adult monarch butterfly on a Mexican sunflower. We primarily grow native plants, but we also grow Mexican sunflowers because 1) the monarchs nectar from them and 2) the flowers bloom until frost and are available when the monarchs are migrating south.
