This newly emerged monarch was still too heavy to fly. I found it on the golf green, managed to get it on my finger, and transported it to a tree to finish hanging. It hopped off once and fluttered to the ground. I left it in the cedar. Three others spotted, all looking new and floating on updrafts of the early morning sun.
