Sitting on deck and bird came around corner of house and landed on dead tree twig above us. Spent 10 seconds on twig then flew off. Ruby-throated female or immature. None nested in yard all summer and haven’t seen any since spring even though I’ve had my feeders out all the time. Have had subsequent sightings to date and believe the birds in area are dispersing to search for food sources and or moving south slowly before full migration starts in a month or so.
