We saw one Monarch this afternoon in our nectar patch. We have only seen perhaps 4 other Monarchs on the property over the course of the summer and no sign of caterpillars yet. We have a very active nectar patch that is full of Swallowtails of several varieties, Fritillaries, and Skippers but seldom a Monarch. Our way station is large and probably as much as 1/8 of an acre. We usually don't see caterpillars until the end of the summer.
