I have common milkweed growing in my yard. I found one leaf with two eggs on it. And another leaf with 1 egg on it and one more leaf with one egg on it.
I picked them and put them in water in a butterfly mesh cage that I keep outside. I just washed the mesh cage with a 10% bleach solution and rinsed it many times since I used it last year to raise monarch butterflies that I found in my yard.
Once they hatch I will report them as caterpillars
