I have 35 acres of open field that's loaded with milkweed, and I don't mow it until after I stop seeing monarchs. I have had monarch butterflies around here all day for the past 2 or 3 weeks. I have two monarch larvae right in front of my front door feeding on the milkweed now. I'm reporting only five butterflies, but if I just walked around here for an hour, I know that I would see a lot more than that.
