Today 8/4/2022 in Edinburg, Texas. Windy hot day, at approximately 10:45 am. Saw Monarch butterfly,possibly female & apparently laying eggs on milkweed, resting on sunflowers & Firebush; and resting on milkweed(see green shadows in background of photo). Wings were torn and frayed, but the Monarch moved (and rested) to and from plants, with apparently energy.
