I planted Royal Catchfly nine years ago, and the hummingbirds love it. The flowers bloom around the beginning of July and last until a few weeks into August. A male and female pair claim my back yard as their territory before they bloom, and I see clashes and chases between females should another fly in and try for a feed. The hummingbirds will even chase away a butterfly that gets a little too close.
