I have not seen a single Monarch larvae feeding on common milkweed on our 13 acre property all season. Land has six acres of prairie reconstruction. We have many common milkweed plants. I have seen as many as four or five Monarch adults here during the season (none in early part of migration). But absolutely no larval feeding observed on milkweed the entire season including today's observation. We are surrounded by thousands of acres of corn and soybean fields -- a major concern with toxic exposures. I am not seeing many other species of butterflies either. A few Painted Lady, Great Spectacle Frittilary, Buckeyes, etc.
