I observed one monarch female making three separate visits to our milkweed patch within about 20 minutes and engaging in egg-laying behavior 2 to 3 times during each visit. By watching carefully I was able to locate two of the eggs, one of which is pictured here. I am sure there are about 6-8 newly-laid eggs today. I've seen no other signs of eggs or larvae during recent checks of the milkweed in July and early August.
