At 11:07 AM, I observed the first monarch visiting my Joe-pye-weed plants for the year. The flowers are still in the bud stage, so the female took off at 11:15 AM. I then walked to the post office (1 mile) and saw 4 monarchs flying about 2nd and 3rd Streets. My friend, Larry, told me at 3 PM that he saw 3 monarchs in northern part of Harrisville. Weather was sunny with the Wind NW-4 AM, turning to the NE-9 mph PM. The Temperature topped out at 75F.
