I have planted many varieties of milkweeds and flowering plants the last three years with the hope I could support monarchs and see them. Well yesterday I finally saw a monarch! It was really attracted to the narrow leaf milkweeds and Cosmos. But did not stay long.

I am also seeing Swallowtails, and with my Passion flower I have many Frittilaria year round now. I just planted a pipevine and my hope is it will attract a Pipevine butterfly.

My yard has moved to California natives more and more and it’s amazing to see the impact.
