On 7/29/22, one Queen caterpillar was found on a Zizotes milkweed. This Zizotes was discovered flourishing on the south end of our homestead last year after record rains. It is about a tenth-mile south of a Zizotes milkweed that I planted three years ago. The "wild" Zizotes is struggling to endure this year's drought. I searched in vain today to locate the chrysalis for the caterpillar and will continue to monitor the area. So far, no Monarchs have been in my area.
