Number: 1

Has become a common occurrence in my area to cut the ditches Waaaay back. Sometimes it’s the county, town or just residents from one house to another. Between homes this practice can stretch for a half mile or so! County says they are required to have ditches cut back by July 15. This particular roadway has been cut twice already this summer. I have found more than enough milkweed between cuts, but only a handful of monarch caterpillars or eggs.
