The most adults I saw at one time during the Blitz were three; two were "dancing" (spiraling upward together) near my wildflower garden when the third floated past. This photo was taken 7 days later, when I saw only this one sailing repeatedly around the garden but rarely landing. When it landed, it was on flowers (like this spent wild bergamot); seeing that it is a male makes sense. It looks a little the worse for wear, perhaps due to thunderstorms the night before?
