1 female (photo 1) landing on and near milkweeds in garden. New eggs found today.
2 males (1 shown in photo2) patrolling the garden and competing for “patrol controlâ€. 1 of the males appeared to have wing fading identical to one that had been present for several days. Another was different than the others (small bird nip on left forewing). A different male from July 5 had a bird nip from left hind wing.
Neither male spent much time pursuing the 1 female, although she was in the garden for several minutes.
Observation time approx 1 hr, as usual.
