I spotted 27 monarchs over 6 hours. The day was sunny and the temps were in the high 80's with a SW wind.
There has been a substantial lack of rain in the area so most of the natural plants have dried up. The milkweed in my garden is lush which is why I believe I have spotted so many monarchs, cats and other butterflies in my garden. I have a lot of milkweed in planters that I store in my garage over the winter. Unfortunately the local nurseries were not able to get any milkweed this year.
