Monarch sighted! Finally! Adult monarch sighted in backyard butterfly garden, time 2:03 pm, temp 77 deg, light breeze/wind under 10 mph.Due to combination dry winter and cold, late spring, filliwed by excessively hot dry weather, our butterfly weed didn't break ground until about 3 weeks ago and only started to bloom in the past week. All other perennials in butterfly garden also delayed 2 - 4 weeks. Especially Jeana tall garden phlox had only bloomed in the past 2 weeks or so. Basically haven't had anything blooming to attract Monarchs until now. Also wild Honey Vine milkweed here and there in the yard has just starting blooming its white flowers.
