Milkweed Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 08/07/2022

Number: 1

Milkweed along both sides of the Conservation Authority ditch which runs parallel to Boundary road. A 6 ft swath along the road gets mowed but there are probably 1000 plants. While I did not check every plant, I found no eggs or caterpillars. There was evidence in one patch of milkweed that a cat had hatched and chewed a small hole in the leaf but no evidence of it now. Many many wasps flying around..
as reported in my previous post, only one adult monarch was seenn in the hour I was checking for eggs or cats.
