We have 10+ feeding from various pollinator gardens and feeders throughout our yard. It's really hard to get an exact count, but every time I'm out there, I spot several at a time, both in the front and back yards. And I hear them all over the place. We have our alpha adult resident male (Sparky), plus 1 or 2 other adult males, who I believe were babies that were hatched here last year. We also have several female mama hummingbirds, many returning from last year, and lots of new juveniles. Many of them work to create their own little territories centered around a particular garden and feeder. The best gardens get the most action. We have one little juvenile male who has one of the best gardens (along with 3 feeders) and he works his little fanny off all day long chasing others away. We've named him Maverick. :) It's so much fun watching them interact with one another and with our other birds. Summer wouldn't be the same without our hummers. We're so thankful to have them here each year.
