During my volunteer shift at Monarch Waystation #299 [aka the Virginia Living Museum] I saw a wild monarch butterfly fly across my path as I walked between the Wason Ed Center and the main exhibit building about 1 pm. The monarch was too swift for me to gender it as it bolted into the vegetation around the Conservation garden near the large gate. It was a busy day, and staff were setting up for an event later that afternoon. No camera handy to capture this sighting.
