A Brief Butterfly Observation

Briefly watched a Monarch Butterfly flutter somewhat randomly, going west to east over our back yard flower garden and then eventually on to our neighbor's yard to the east.  Much too brief to grab a camera and snag a photo.

While our flower garden has several common milkweeds, along with numerous nectar-rich flowers, this butterfly only made two very brief stops (maybe 2-3 seconds each, only one was on a milkweed).  My guess is it was a male looking for females.&nsp; Not finding any here, it was gone less than a minute later.

At the time we had partly cloudy skies with an air temperature of 81°F, a dew point of 56°F, humidity at 43%, an 8 mph breeze from the northwst, and the air pressure steady at 28.61 inches.
