This larva came from an egg I noticed on a stem of milkweed I cut a couple of days ago when managing aphids.
I will put it back in the milkweed patch soon - after a second instar and when I am sure it is not molting.
I had posted earlier about a couple of larvae I was protecting in containers, but they didn’t make it back to the patch - I fear i may have moved them to separate containers and fresh leaves at a bad time, because they stopped moving and died. :-(.
